If you could drastically improve your health with one decision, would you?
Our patient, Meghan has quite the story to share:
“My story may be different than some other patients in the way that I didn’t have teeth that I was unhappy with.
I was blessed with straight teeth my whole life and never had to experience braces or the desire to change the look of my teeth. My story revolves around deeper health issues related to oral health. I was a kid who had a fair amount of cavities that were filled with mercury fillings.
I also eventually had to have a root canal in my early 20’s. As I hit my early 30’s I developed an autoimmune disease (Hashimoto’s) which is, unfortunately, very common.
Even before my diagnosis I was experiencing so many weird health symptoms so I had spent about 10 years trying to figure out why I was feeling like I was aging at warp speed. In my quest to find the root cause of the onset of my symptoms and diagnosis, I had read about the correlation between mercury fillings, root canals and systemic inflammation.
It took finding the right dentist for me to bite the bullet to get my fillings removed/replaced with a safer material and to also have my root canal removed and replaced with a ceramic implant.
Having my fillings removed and my root canal assessed meant that I was leaving no stone unturned in my journey to feeling like myself again.
I had felt so terrible for so long that I didn’t even know what “good” felt like anymore. I just knew there was no way my life was supposed to feel so blah. I was willing to do whatever I needed to take back my health.”
Meghan’s story is unfortunately not rare. So many of our patients come to us after experiencing years of unexplained discomfort, later to be diagnosed with something that was entirely preventable.
Are you willing to do what it takes to take back your health like Meghan did?
