This past April (2024), a few of us traveled to Utah on a trip that would prove transformative. My dental assistants, Katie and Whitney, and I embarked on a journey to learn from the renowned Dr. Judson Wall, a titan in biological dentistry. But this trip held an unexpected twist that most CE courses don’t. Dr. Wall didn’t just teach—he transformed. In a single, intensive IV sedation session, our own Whitney underwent root canal removals, treatment for four cavitations, and a tongue tie release. It was a powerful experience for us all, but for Whitney, it was life-altering. Here’s Whitney’s story, in her own words…

I have (or should I say….had) been struggling with severe IBS since high school. Countless tests and no clear diagnosis lead me nowhere except for a clear understanding that I should stay away from lettuce. As if that wasn’t enough, I also have debilitating migraines which have made me reliant on prescription medication, something I hate admitting.

For years, I thought my health issues were just ‘normal’ for me. But working at Vios has opened my eyes to a surprising truth: dental health can significantly impact overall health and I meet people ‘like me’ weekly. Undergoing these dental treatments was personal. Inspired by our patients’ success stories and finally prioritizing my own well-being, I decided it was time to address these hidden oral health disruptors.

The Plan:

  • Remove 2 root canaled teeth and replace them with ceramic implants
  • Treat 4 cavitations from old wisdom teeth extractions
  • Release my tongue tie
  • Get TMJ prolo-therapy

Results:

I’ve kept a pretty solid journal throughout this process, below are some of the major changes I’ve had.

Most people wouldn’t connect root canals, cavitations, or a tongue tie to unexplained health issues. But I’m not most people. Working alongside Cody at Vios, I’ve witnessed these connections repeatedly. Still, experiencing it personally is different. You wonder: Can ‘one thing’ really transform someone’s health? It sounds too good to be true. But now, I know with certainty. Investing in my oral health, as cliché as it might sound, has genuinely changed my life.
